Welsh Government consults on social care

A number of ideas are being consulted on, starting with the private provision of residential care for children and independent foster care

I’m Matt Rosser with news that the Welsh Government has launched a consultation on improving social care services. As part of an agreement between the Welsh Labour Government and Plaid Cymru, a number of ideas are being consulted on, starting with the private provision of residential care for children and independent foster care. Both parties say their aim is to “eliminate private profit from the care of children” in Wales. Other ideas being consulted on include extending the definition of a ‘social care worker’ to include all childcare and play workers. The consultation will run until the 7th November. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio
