London councils object to relocation of specialist cancer service

Richmond Council has voted to request a review by NHS England

I'm James MacDonald with news that councils in London have objected to the NHS decision to relocate specialist cancer services. The plan is to relocate the services from South London to Central London, which is further away from Surrey families who need it. Richmond Council has voted to request a review by NHS England. The NHS say the relocation is necessary as a new national service specification in 2021 outlined that treatment services need to be based on the same site as paediatric services.
