NHS dental treatment has still not returned to pre-pandemic levels

The British Dental Association (BDA) has said the next government need to take on board the huge knock-on effects the crisis in dentistry is having across the health service.

I'm James MacDonald with news that NHS dental treatment has still not returned to pre-pandemic levels. Figures for 22 and 23 show that courses of treatment were 15% down on the year before the pandemic. At the recent Medical Committee Conference in Newport one GP gave details of an incident where a colleague prescribed antibiotics for an abscess that turned out to be oral cancer. The British Dental Association (BDA) has said the next government need to take on board the huge knock-on effects the crisis in dentistry is having across the health service.
