Wales could get a National Care Service

An Expert Panel has been established to look into the merits of creating a Welsh National Care Service, free at the point of need.

I'm Matt Rosser with news that Wales could get a ‘National Care Service’ if a deal being brokered between two of the country’s political parties goes ahead. The UK government cancelled plans to fund social care through a rise in National Insurance, but First Minister Mark Drakeford said the U turn had “strengthened” the case for doing something similar in Wales as part of an agreement with Plaid Cymru. An Expert Panel has been established to look into the merits of creating a Welsh National Care Service, free at the point of need. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
