Unpaid carers in Wales: deadline for grant registration is approaching

The funding is intended to compensate people who ran up extra costs because they were caring for someone during the pandemic.

I'm John Warburton with news that time is running out for people in Wales who are unpaid carers to apply for a £500 payment from the Welsh government. The funding is intended to compensate people who ran up extra costs because they were caring for someone during the pandemic. Local councils administer the money, which is for anyone who was getting Carers’ Allowance at the end of this March, or who was meant to be receiving it then. But anyone applying for the payment needs to approach their council before 5pm on Friday, July 15th.
