Working across York and North Yorkshire, the Independent Care Group says reports of plans to delay social care reform are a “kick in the teeth” for the sector
I'm John Warburton with news that a regional umbrella group representing carers is urging the new Chancellor to keep what it calls a “£7bn commitment” to carers. Working across York and North Yorkshire, the Independent Care Group says reports of plans to delay social care reform are a “kick in the teeth” for the sector. The concern centres on reports that a more generous means test, and a lifetime care cost cap of £86,000 could be delayed beyond a suggested start date of October next year. The ICG says it’s written to Jeremy Hunt, urging him to spend the annual £7bn he called for when he was chair of the Health and Social Care Committee.
