UK’s first drone flight carrying community pharmacy prescriptions is claimed

Boots says it’s been organising test drone flights carrying medicine from Baker Barracks near Portsmouth, to the helipad at St. Mary’s Hospital in Newport on the Isle of Wight

I'm John Warburton with news that a high-street chemist is claiming that it’s made the first drone delivery of prescription medicines from a community pharmacy. Boots says it’s been organising test drone flights carrying medicine from Baker Barracks near Portsmouth, to the helipad at St. Mary’s Hospital in Newport on the Isle of Wight. According to the company, its staff then collected the prescription medicines, to take them to pharmacies across the island, ready for dispensing to patients. Managers say they’re running test flights to an island, to prove how drones can be useful for urgent deliveries in remote or cut-off areas.
