Some local authorities are paying more than a million pounds a year for the care of just one child

I'm Alistair Clarke with news that a report by the Guardian has shown that some local authorities are paying more than a million pounds a year for the care of just one child. Vulnerable children need specialist support from experts and care staff but one council in the north east confirmed they pay £18,000 a week for one child which is just short of a million pounds a year. Medway in Kent has had 12 children needing care costing more than £10,000 a week over the last 5 years. There'll be more on this and other stories here on Care Radio.
