Support charity welcomes duty to involve unpaid carers in discharge plans

The House of Commons passed a House of Lords amendment to the Health and Care Bill on Wednesday

I'm John Warburton with news that a charity is welcoming government support for a change in the law, obliging NHS trusts to involve unpaid carers in plans for patients leaving hospital. The announcement came from Carers UK, which supports people giving care without a salary, including friends, family and children of a patient. The House of Commons passed a House of Lords amendment to the Health and Care Bill on Wednesday this week. We’ll update you on this and other news here on Care Radio.
