Rise in children with mental health problems

NHS data shows a 39% rise in referrals for mental health treatment for under-18s over the past 12 months

I'm James MacDonald with news that there’s a rise in the number of children needing help for serious mental health problems. NHS data shows a 39% rise in referrals for mental health treatment for under-18s over the past 12 months. The England-wide data includes children who are suicidal, self-harming, suffering serious depression or anxiety, and have eating disorders. Separately, data also shows hospital admissions for eating disorders are rising among children and young people.
