I'm John Warburton with news that there’s a call for children’s social care to be thoroughly reformed, after research found that more than a thousand children in care are being moved on from their placement every week. According to The Rees Centre at the University of Oxford and support charity Coram Voice, the lack of stability leaves children in care feeling unsafe, and is harming the children’s trust in social workers. The Local Government Association adds that there’s renewed urgency for transforming children’s social care as soon as possible. Leaders added that “reform and investment must go hand in hand”.
