Phone app helping to keep heart patients out of hospital

The app detects when there’s a problem and the patient then has a video consultation, reducing the need to attend a hospital

I'm Alistair Clarke with news that an app on the phone of heart patients is keeping them out of hospital and cutting waiting times, it’s claimed. The app detects when there’s a problem and the patient then has a video consultation, reducing the need to attend a hospital. One patient in Wales, Alun Morgan – a grandfather of 7 – says he’s had the app now for 4 months and it checks his weight, blood pressure and oxygen levels every day –if they’re ever out of the ordinary, he gets a call from the NHS.
