Pharmacists warn drug shortages are putting patients at risk

Since June, the Government has issued a number of "medicine supply notifications”. Earlier in the year shortages of hormone replacement therapy led to an outcry.

I’m Matt Rosser with news that a warning has been issued by pharmacists as vital medicines are in short supply. Half of the workers polled for the Pharmaceutical Journal said patients have been put at risk in the last six months due to the shortages of drugs including pain relief used in childbirth, a drug used by prostate cancer and endometriosis patients; an antipsychotic drug and a particular brand of insulin. Since June, the Government has issued a number of "medicine supply notifications”.
