I'm Alistair Clarke with news that older people could play more of a role in foster care says a new book in America. Nearly half a million children need care in the US and older people are being encouraged to help out by offering respite care, train to be advocates in court or offer additional school teaching. The new book, The Foster Care Survival Guide, says foster carers are often not supported and older people can fill a number of roles to help the system.
