NHS virtual ward avoids hospital admission for nine thousand

Patients are treated from the comfort of their own home which frees up hospital beds for those patients who are most sick

I'm Matt Jones with news that nine thousand hospital admissions have been avoided in the south east of England in the past year thanks to the new NHS virtual ward initiative. Patients are treated from the comfort of their own home which frees up hospital beds for those patients who are most sick. If the benefits seen in South East England applied across the country then 178 thousand admissions could be avoided over the next two years, according to NHS analysis.
