I’m Paul Hutton with news that the interim deputy chief executive of NHS Providers is calling for urgent action to fix the social care crisis. Miriam Deakin is responding to a new Association of Directors of Adult Social Services survey showing growing waiting lists for care assessments. She says the numbers waiting for assessment is unacceptable and not only delays getting people the care they need, but adds to wider pressures in social care on the flow of patients through the NHS.
