NHS leaders warn some racial inequalities for health workers are “deep-rooted”

Half the staff surveyed (51%) had thought about leaving the NHS because of their experience of racism while in the job

I'm John Warburton with news that Two NHS leaders are adding their voices to calls to do more to tackle what they see as a “deep-rooted culture” of racial inequality in the care employment system. Rob Webster and Fatima Khan-Shah from the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership were responding to a new NHS Confederation report, called “Shattered Hopes”. It said half the staff surveyed (51%) had thought about leaving the NHS because of their experience of racism while in the job. In an announcement on Thursday (4th August), they say they wanted to “consign to history” any experiences of racial discrimination.
