NHS Confederation says NHS facing once in a generation challenge

There's still a daunting backlog of 6 million people waiting for elective treatment.

I'm Matt Jones with news that the NHS is facing a once-in-a-generation challenge to continue to deliver for patients, that's according to the head of the NHS Confederation. Matthew Taylor said that there's still a daunting backlog of 6 million people waiting for elective treatment and 56 thousand staff absent on an average day in January. He also said that in order to fully recover from the pandemic and tackle its waiting lists the Government needs to more funding. There'll be more on this and other stories here on Care Radio.
