New nursing student numbers in UK fall by 10% this autumn

I'm John Warburton with news that official figures show there’s been a 10% drop in the number of students accepted on to nursing courses in the UK, compared to last year. The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service says the fall for those starting this academic year totalled nearly 3,700 people. Helen Whyley, RCN Wales director, described the data as “massively disappointing”. But Northern Ireland went against the UK average, seeing 3% more nursing students this year.
