New 72 bed care home for Leicester Forest East

As well as rooms suitable for people with dementia and complex needs, the building would contain a charity shop, a cafe, a gym and a 'low vision' clinic

I'm Nick Meir with news that a charity has put forward plans to create a 72-bed care home for people with dementia and complex needs. The proposal by sight loss charity Vista, which works with people who have learning disabilities, dementia and sensory impairment, has applied to build a new, three-storey care facility in Leicester Forest East. As well as rooms suitable for people with dementia and complex needs, the building would contain a charity shop, a cafe, a gym and a 'low vision' clinic, according to plans submitted to Blaby District Council. Vista has said it wants to ‘create a centre of excellence for sight loss’ in Leicester. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
