MPs conclude GP services are "demoralised", patients "increasingly dissatisfied"

A new report from the Health and Social Care Committee is accusing the government and NHS England of being “reluctant” to admit the system’s problems

I'm John Warburton with news that a group of MPs is condemning what members call a “crisis” within England’s GP service. A new report from the Health and Social Care Committee is accusing the government and NHS England of being “reluctant” to admit the system’s problems. They also say the situation is now “putting patients at risk”. The MPs added that the government pledge for all patients to see a GP within two weeks still isn’t enough to fix what it’s calling a “fundamental capacity problem”. Health ministers responded by stating the number of doctors working the equivalent of full time has increased by 1,500 since three years ago.
