I'm John Warburton with news that a group of MPs is asking the government to provide immediate extra funding for adult social care. The cross-party Levelling Up, Housing and Communities committee had been looking at support for unpaid carers, along with the workforce as a whole and local government finances. Its report, published on Thursday (4th August), said Downing Street has “no roadmap, no timetable, no milestones, and no measures of success.” For its part, the government responding, claiming that reform of adult social care “is a priority”.
