Lords join chorus of warnings over care forecasting

The Royal College of Physicians says the government doesn’t know how many care workers we’ll need

I’m John Warburton with news that the House of Lords has joined many experts in the care sector in trying to stop a crisis in care provision. Among others, the Royal College of Physicians says the government doesn’t know how many care workers we’ll need to look after a growing population of older people. But the Lords have approved an amendment to the Health And Care Bill requiring those numbers: now, it needs Commons approval.
