The outreach scheme supports families with wider needs to avoid re-attendance at A and E

I’m Paul Hutton keeping you up to date with news that a new scheme at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage is relieving pressure on staff. The outreach scheme supports families with wider needs to avoid re-attendance at A and E unless they have a medical emergency. Barnardo’s and the Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust are trialling a ‘Family Support Worker’ based in the children’s emergency department, who’ll facilitate the rapid discharge of children and young people and offer community-based and preventative support. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
