I'm James MacDonald with news that health unions are urging ministers to extend a Covid-19 life assurance payment for health and care workers. The NHS and Social Care scheme entitled families of nursing staff and others who die from COVID-19 to support worth up to £60,000. The scheme closed at the end of March despite a surge in cases after restrictions were lifted.
