Inflation hits NHS finances

NHS England has estimated inflation will cost the service a total 1.5 billion pounds more than had been budgeted for in 2022-23

I’m Paul Hutton with news that NHS England has estimated inflation will cost the service a total 1.5 billion pounds more than had been budgeted for in 2022-23. This included £485m extra on energy costs and £350m more to purchase social care. £280m more has been categorised only as “other”, which Health Service Journal reports includes food, estates management and medical supplies.
