House of Lords invites carers to mark new Health and Care Act

A House of Lords reception emphasised the new law’s requirement to consult unpaid carers as early as possible

I'm John Warburton with news that Care leaders from around England have been welcomed to Parliament to mark the passing of the Health and Care Act. A House of Lords reception emphasised the new law’s requirement to consult unpaid carers as early as possible, when plans are made to send a patient home from hospital. The provisions include adult carers, and young people supporting grown-ups who need care. The act also formalised integrated care systems to help make the provision of clinical and social care more joined-up.
