I'm Matt Jones with news that people with depression are waiting years to be diagnosed and then often don't receive the best treatment, that's according to research by scientists at a London university. The research by King's College London concludes that there are gaps in treatment meaning that illness lasts longer than it should for some people. The paper estimates that those with depression wait on average eight years between first symptoms and contacting a medical professional.
