I’m Matt Rosser with news that with around 40,000 unfilled nursing vacancies across the NHS in England, the new Health Secretary has ordered an immediate increase in overseas recruitment. Steve Barclay says civil servants will “work at pace” on plans which focus on recruitment from countries like India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
