I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that a case of the so-called ‘deltacron’ variant of Covid has been identified in the UK. The UK Health Security Agency has listed the ‘recombinant’ virus - a merge of Delta and Omicron - as a ‘variant in monitoring’ and experts say that with with Delta and Omicron infections falling, this deltacron virus would ‘struggle to take off’. Three other Covid recombinants have been reported globally since the pandemic began and they soon fizzled out. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
