I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that the Migration Advisory Committee has urged the Government to remove the Immigration Skills Charge and ensure care workers have ongoing access to visas. The committee’s put forward 19 recommendations which include paying care workers in England a level of £10.50 per hour to help alleviate the impact of “workforce challenges”. The recommendations have been welcomed by a number of organisations including The Homecare Association which warns that the sector is in a ‘precarious state’ and that recruiting and retaining staff has never been more difficult.
