Cleaners and caterers on strike at Maudsley

The staff say their pay claim for a basic rate of 13 pounds and 26 pence an hour is being ignored

I'm Matt Jones with news that cleaners and catering staff at the Maudsley hospital in South London will be demonstrating on Thursday. They'll be protesting in support of better pay and conditions. The staff say their pay claim for a basic rate of 13 pounds and 26 pence an hour is being ignored. Catering and cleaning for South London and Maudsley NHS trusts is outsourced to a management company called ISS who employ more than 350 staff at the sites. For more care stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
