I'm James MacDonald with news that chemists in Britain are warning they’re short of key antibiotics used to treat Strep A, as cases rise. A surge in Strep A among schoolchildren has increased demand for amoxicillin and penicillin, the main antibiotic treatments. Where supplies do exist, they are “flying off the shelves,” with some saying they are now dispensing medication at a loss due to an increase in wholesale prices.
