Charity wants better support for "kinship" carers

Family and friends who look after young people should get immediate financial support when caring begins

I'm John Warburton with new that a charity is calling for greater support for family and friends who care for children whose parents can’t look after them. The charity called “Kinship” has just released a report that says family and friends who look after young people should get immediate financial support when caring begins. There ought also to be guaranteed allowances that aren’t means-tested. Among other requests, there should also be free legal advice, and proper training. The report additionally calls for local authorities to create specialist kinship care teams,
