Carer’s Leave Bill passes latest parliamentary test

If it becomes law, working carers could have a legal entitlement to a week’s unpaid leave from their employers

I'm John Warburton with news that a proposed new law that could allow more than two million working carers to get a certain amount of unpaid leave for their duties has passed its latest hurdle in Parliament. The House of Commons has passed the third reading of the Carer’s Leave Bill. If it becomes law, working carers could have a legal entitlement to a week’s unpaid leave from their employers, to allow them to carry out caring commitments. The proposed legislation will now go to the House of Lords for further examination and debate.
