Cancer carers trial new "eat me" miniature cameras

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is among groups trialling getting patients to swallow something the size of a vitamin pill

I’m John Warburton, with an update on an easier way for cancer care staff to diagnose problems deep inside patients, in places we don’t really like being examined. Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is among groups trialling getting patients to swallow something the size of a vitamin pill that contains TWO tiny cameras. On the way down, digital pictures especially of the colon, are sent to a body-worn computer. And the camera leaves the body the same way as everything else down there. We’ll keep you up-to-date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
