I'm John Warburton with news that new research shows daily tea or coffee, with biscuits, are “rocket fuel” for NHS workers. The revelation comes in the annual light-hearted Christmas report that scientists send to the British Medical Journal. The team, led by two consultants at the Royal Derby Hospital, also notes that nearly 1-in-5 of medics surveyed would accept a free doughnut instead of biscuits. The Doctors' Association UK says its workforce must be looked after, though “focusing on bigger issues such as pay restoration will go a long way to retain staff."
