Adding salt to your food decreases life expectancy

A study found that adding salt could knock up to two years off life expectancy for men, and one-and-a-half years for women

I'm Matt Jones with news that adding salt to your food at the table may be linked to an earlier death, according to a study of half a million people in the UK. The study found that adding salt could knock up to two years off life expectancy for men, and one-and-a-half years for women. Although it's difficult to track salt intake because of the amount of salt in processed foods, the researchers say it's still worthwhile monitoring and cutting down on adding extra salt to your food.
