50,000 homes for older people needed every year

The International Longevity Centre UK calls on the government to initiate an accelerated programme to construct older-people’s housing

I’m Matt Rosser with news that the UK needs up to 50,000 homes for older people per year according to a study. The UK is expected to have more than 17 million people over the age of 65 by 2040 and the review conducted by the International Longevity Centre UK calls on the government to initiate an accelerated programme to construct older-people’s housing, as what it calls a “meagre” 7,000 are currently built annually. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
