£30m improvement to Stockport hospital gets go ahead

A multi-million pound transformation of Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport has been given the planning go-ahead

I'm Nick Meir with news that a multi-million pound transformation of Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport has been given the planning go-ahead. The £30 million project will see the A&E and urgent care services for tens of thousands of people in the borough 'significantly improved', according to hospital design bosses. The investment will bring a 'major new facility' to make Stepping Hill's A&E unit into a 'state-of-the-art' and 'more efficient' treatment centre. The building work will include new assessment, treatment and consultation areas for vital emergency and care services - as well as a new children’s emergency department, enhanced mental health care, and medical same-day emergency care.
