NHS England has U-turned on funding cuts in mental health support
I'm James MacDonald with news that NHS England has U-turned on funding cuts in mental health support. Last Friday they said the service would not accept any new registrations from secondary care staff but would continue to treat existing patients. The decision was strongly criticised and now NHS England has agreed to ‘extend the service’ for secondary care health professionals by 12 months. Professor Dame Clare Gerada, an ambassador for NHS Practitioner Health said she’s ‘delighted’ that the extension was agreed.
