Survey shows care providers aren't making information accessible

Healthwatch England says many health and social care providers still don’t obey laws about the national Accessible Information Standard

I’m John Warburton with news of a conference this week that’s called for making care service information easier for blind or deaf people to use. Among other requests, speakers at the Healthwatch England event said many health and social care providers still don’t obey laws about the national Accessible Information Standard. Recommendations include using more British Sign Language, and remembering that many GPs’ phone consultations are practically useless for deaf people. There should also be better help for blind people to access doctors. We’ll keep you up-to-date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
