Support for nurses taking industrial action rises

Public support for nurses taking industrial action has risen from 42 to 49% according to a poll by the Royal College of Nursing

I'm Nick Meir with news that public support for nurses taking industrial action has risen from 42 to 49% according to a poll by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), who are calling for the government to end the pay rise delay for nurses. Tens of thousands of vacancies remain in nursing across the health service and the head of the RCN said the lack of staff is putting patient care at risk.  General secretary and chief executive of the RCN, Pat Cullen said nursing staff have been waiting more than three months for a pay award and that many cannot afford to keep waiting as the cost of living crisis bites. The RCN is calling for an immediate “substantial” pay rise having threatened to strike if nurses are not awarded such an increase.
