After looking at reports from more than 54,000 patients, the scientists say mental health problems are linked to the risk of long Covid increasing by up to 46 percent
I'm John Warburton with news that scientists have found a link between poor mental health and an increased risk of having long Covid. The association, discovered by researchers at Harvard University, isn’t a cause, but does include the finding that psychological distress is more associated with long Covid than physical risks such as obesity. After looking at reports from more than 54,000 patients, the scientists say mental health problems are linked to the risk of long Covid increasing by up to 46 percent. The researchers add their results should encourage greater public awareness of the importance of mental health care. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
