Socal Work Racism Survery

One third of social workers across England have experienced racism from colleagues or managers

I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that one third of social workers across England have experienced racism from colleagues or managers at least five times in the past year. The survey of 2000 social work practitioners by the group What Works for Children’s Social Care revealed that one in 10 had considered leaving their jobs and 8% leaving the profession altogether. Anna Bacchoo of the organisation said the report showed that social work must become a ‘more anti-racist profession’. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
