Food Train, which annually oversees 60,000 meals and grocery deliveries, says nearly one-in-five elderly residents today might not get enough to eat
I'm John Warburton with news that a Scottish charity is warning that it’s found a big rise in the number of older people at risk of malnutrition. Food Train, which annually oversees 60,000 meals and grocery deliveries, says nearly one-in-five elderly residents today might not get enough to eat, compared to about one-in-seven in 2019. The charity’s “Meal Maker” project now gets cooked dinners, from families who’ve made too much food, onto the tables of older neighbours, as worries increase over demands on care visitors.
