I'm John Warburton with news that new research shows carers how to help pills for their patients work faster; by asking them to lie down in a particular position. Five scientists connected to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine said their new tests showed people resting on their right hand side could absorb the drugs in pills up to 83% faster than in other positions. Their research, published this week in the “Physics of Fluids” journal, used a computer model of a real man aged 34, and named Duke, recorded during an MRI scan. The scientists suggested their discoveries could particularly help elderly or immobile people receiving care.
