The government has decided that most asymptomatic checks in hospitals and care homes won’t happen after August 31st
I'm John Warburton with news that routine covid testing for people without symptoms, who’ve been given tests for health work, is to end. Most asymptomatic checks in hospitals and care homes won’t happen after August 31st. It’s a government decision to stop the tests, after ministers credited the vaccination programme with reducing recent case numbers. However, others point out UK deaths involving Covid since June 8th have shown a 95% increase over the same period last year. Testing for people in care situations who are showing symptoms will continue. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
