The level of abuse and violence directed at NHS staff has reached “dangerous levels”
I’m James Macdonald with news the level of abuse and violence directed at NHS staff has reached “dangerous levels” according to hospital chiefs in London. Over 40 of the capital’s NHS leaders revealed “tens of thousands” of staff were confronted with violence and aggression every year. Long waiting times for treatment is thought to be at the root of the problem with patients being warned they now face sanctions and even a hospital ban for repeat offences. Efforts are also being made to encourage staff to report incidents by reassuring them that action will be taken. There’s more on this and other stories here on Care Radio.
