Ring-fencing for social care funding needed, says care organisation

The National Care Forum claims that, between 2021 and 22, the government paid at least £2.88bn less than the actual cost of care outside hospital, for people aged over 65

I'm John Warburton with news that a group of non-profit care and support organisations says the Chancellor must ring-fence adult social care funding in the forthcoming spring budget. The National Care Forum claims that, between 2021 and 22, the government paid at least £2.88bn less than the actual cost of care outside hospital, for people aged over 65. The group says care providers are currently depleting their reserves, relying on charities and increasing some fees. The Spring Budget is due on March 15th.
